Factory Reset Doesn't Guarantees complete wipe out

Beware!!!

Was that personal selfie you took really deleted before you sold your android on OLX or Quikr???
In recent study security software vendor Avast! discovered that androids factory reset leaves deleted data in recoverable state which can be recover using forensic recovery tool.

Your device is vulnerable

Lets start from very basic.
whenever you delete files and folders from your hard drive or any storage device (all multimedia devices),the files aren't actually wiped from your device. In fact they are marked as deleted and hidden.then after when you decide to copy new items on same device your operating system will write over those marked files in future, and it leaves the deleted data lying there.

In short there are pretty much chances that the files you deleted can be restored using some softwares such as Recuva.

Above mentioned case was for windows but in android "Factory Reset" feature seems to work in similar fashion.when you factory reset your device there are still chances that your e-mails,personal photos as well as contacts can be recovered even after factory reset.
If you are preparing to sell your old mobile and think that factory reset will delete all your previously stored data then you need to beware, only factory reset wont do the job for you!!!

The Solution

Avast! software security provides the exact solution that can fix the problem as its able to wipe out (clear) data properly.which is an alternative to factory reset.
There is an other alternative as well, rather than using their anti theft tool, you can perform safe reset using the encryption and factory reset feature found in droid.

This is the problem with android phone right now that can be bypassed by encrypting your device's storage before wiping it.Google announced that the problem will be solved in future.untill remember encryt + factory reset :)
